Meet The Candidates
The Middletown City School Board Election on May 19th is seeing a spike in engagement this year! Amidst the noise, it has become clear that we need leaders who are more invested in solving real problems, not public image. We need a shift back to members of the board who demonstrate honesty, fairness, intelligence and industriousness. Yes it is nice to have a candidate with experience, but everyone's a rookie on day one; the requirements of the job can be learned. The core of a candidate's character is what matters most; it is what drives every decision and action they make on behalf of the community.
We are advocating for three candidates who embody the qualities necessary to steer the board's culture back to excellence:
Honesty and Transparency: We need leaders to act ethically and make decisions based on laws, regulations, and policies so as to protect the district from liabilities. They must treat the community as stakeholders - speak on facts, honor input, and accept responsibility when mistakes happen.
Intelligence and Vision: Having many degrees does not automatically translate to being effective on a school board. We need candidates that have critical thinking skills, curiosity to ask the tough questions and foresight to plan for our children's future.
Hard Work: Being on the board requires more than just attending meetings. Preparation for these meetings requires commitment to studying and researching, participating in committees, and community outreach.
We must elect school board members that are committed to the success of our students and schools above all else. On May 19th, we get to choose the individuals who will be responsible for building community trust, protecting district reputation and stewarding tax-dollars. With so much at stake this year, it’s critical that voters put people over politics and vote to restore the integrity of the Middletown City School Board.

Terry Randolph
Mr. Randolph caught our attention when he spoke up at recent board meetings. It was his deep concern for fiscal responsibility while pointing to a need for improved climate and culture for all that kept us listening. We need his advocacy to not only work with the board for continued growth, but influence positive changes within the board. Because of this we are proudly backing Mr. Randolph’s candidacy.

Freddie Williams
Mr. Williams has a combination of experience and forward thinking perspective. He knows investment in our young citizens is an investment to a community to thrive. He has not forgotten that an effective leader listens and cares about all that make up a successful school district. We are committed to getting Mr. Williams another three years as board trustee.

Deymiss Caraballo
Ms. Caraballo ran an impressive campaign last year and we are thrilled that she is running again. As a parent, tax payer, and former employee her unique point of view is exactly what the board needs. Running this year displays her commitment to our students and community. This commitment earned our unwavering support for her run for as board of education trustee.
